Our Focus Area
In order to prioritise our efforts and activities while channeling our resources towards optimum utilisation and results, our focus shall be on the following four thematic areas:
Domestic Violence and Abuse (DOVA)
In line in our vision, we believe no person should live in fear of harm, decimation, oppression and violence. Accordingly, we will work closely with partners and stakeholders to address issues of violence and abuses suffered by vulnerable people in the forms of physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and psychological assault towards building an inclusive society that guarantees the brightest prospect for self-actualization for everyone.
Child Rights Education (CRED)
As outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the child (UNCRC), Child rights refer to specific rights that recognize the special needs of children and young people, which covers all aspects of a child’s life This Convention has since been ratified by Nigeria and domesticated in the State as the Ogun State Child Rights Law. The domestication is premised on the fact that the actions, or inactions of the larger society impact children more strongly than any other group while the costs to society of failing its children are huge. It is on this premise that we elect to work in collaboration with various stakeholders to promote the implementation of the Child Rights Law of Ogun State.
Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Practices (ATCLAP)
We also focus our efforts on preventing and addressing the exploitation of individuals for profits, often through sexual exploitation, forced labour and other unlawful means. We reckon that human trafficking is a crime that erodes the dignity of individuals and kills their potentials for self-fulfillment. The employment of children in any work that is harmful to their physical, mental, social and moral development also often interferes with their positive development and can lead to severe consequences for their health and well-being.
Empowerment Support Services (ESUS)
We seek to promote economic empowerment that focuses on improving the economic status and financial independence of individuals and communities through provision of access to resources, trainings, opportunities to create sustainable livelihoods, build assets and improve economic well-being. With the increasing importance of technology and the digital world, we also focus on digital empowerment for our youth by providing access to digital resources, digital literacy and skills to bridge the digital divide and leverage technology for personal and collective development
